Saint Augustine Trip

The trip to St. Augustine proved to be a success.  55 people joined us to explore Mission Nombre de Dios ( the oldest Catholic church in America) and site of the Shrine of Our Lady of  the Milk and Happy Birth( first shrine to Mary in the USA), Old Town St. Augustine including Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine ( home of the oldest Catholic parish) followed by Nights of Lights trolley ride.  It was a full day and the bus ride back to Palm Bay was very quiet.

Christmas Cheer to Children

On Monday, December 22, Grand Knight Ray Quinn and Council member Larry Davis, visited Holmes Regional Medical Center to present Teddy Bears and stuffed animals to the Pediatrics floor.  The intention is to bring a little Christmas joy to children who will be spending all or part of their Christmas in the hospital.  Pictured with the Grand Knight is Mary Paquette, Director of Clinical Nursing and some of the Administrative staff.

Council Anniversary

Thursday, Dec. 18th is Council 13243’s anniversary.  50 men of Our Lady of Grace parish petitioned the Supreme Council to be chartered as a council of the Knights of Columbus.

On Dec. 18th, 2002 Our Lady of Grace council recieved its charter and became Council 13243.  Our council charter is posted on the wall outside the Quad room.  The next time you are in the Servite Center check out the charter and look at the names of our charter members.  Take a minute to thank these gentlemen for taking the initial step that formed our council.

Council and Auxiliary Christmas Party

Monday, Dec. 15 our council and the ladies auxiliary will be holding our annual Christmas Party in the Quad Room of the Servite Center.  Please bring an unwrapped toy for a boy or  girl to be distributed by St. Vincent De Paul Society.  If you want to participate in the “Yankee Swap” bring a wrapped gift ($10.00 limit please) to be exchanged among the participants.

Laps for Life

Emmanuel has asked the council to head up a Lap for Life project.  Join us this Saturday, Dec. 6th at 9:30 AM in front of the church.  We will begin with recitation of the Rosary in front of the statue of Our Lady at 9:45 AM.  The walk is around the loop of the church and will begin immediately after the Rosary.  Laps for Life will continue until 3:30 PM and will be followed by Mass at 4 PM.  Refreshments, chairs, and tents for shade will be available to the participants.
